.png?width=1232&height=928&name=Untitled%20design%20(2).png)
Chronic respiratory diseases like COPD and asthma remain among the most under-recognized global health threats—yet they’re entirely preventable.
At this special ACHDM Fellow BONfire, WHO Special Envoy José Luis Castro will explore how data can revolutionize prevention, policy, and patient outcomes—especially in underserved and low-income regions.
With decades of leadership in global health and noncommunicable disease control, Castro, a tenured Fellow of the ACHDM, will spotlight the power of data to drive public health innovation—from smart tech and air quality monitoring to data-informed policies that change lives. He’ll also confront challenges like inequity, fragmented data, and weak governance—and call for cross-sector collaboration to close critical gaps.
Discussion Topics: Global Burden of Respiratory Disease; Real-Time Data in Prevention; Data-Informed Policy Making; Innovations in Low-Resource Settings; Health Equity & Governance; Global Collaboration.
